Coping with Technological Disaster Guidebook & Appendices:

Based on several years of socioeconomic research, our council developed this guidebook to explain what a technological disaster is, how it differs from a natural disaster, and what to expect during a technological disaster and in the years afterward. It provides lessons learned and information on where to get help.

This video training program teaches peer-listening techniques that allow community members to counsel each other. A community member can learn to be an advisor, friend, and referral agent for people who may not have access to professional services or know that help is available. The Spill: Oral History

The council produced a comprehensive oral history of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, published on the 20th anniversary, March 24, 2009.

This book features interviews with over 60 people who experienced the spill first-hand. They include Alaska citizens; government agency personnel involved with the spill and cleanup; elected officials who dealt with the spill; and oil industry personnel involved in the spill and cleanup.
